I think last post, I talked about the webhosting we finally decided on, HostGator. Before that, however, I planned to have hosting provided by our registrar, Namecheap.
Namecheap is a great registrar, but their webhosting department leaves a lot tp be desired. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the service itself, as far as memory limits and such, but their customer service was not the best.
I had signed up, and I was just waiting for confirmation, login information, etc. It neve came. I had prepayed for 3 months, and, as the first month neared its end, I’d not even recieved login information for my site.
Maybe it was a fluke. You’re welcome to try Namecheap’s hosting, they did refund me and all that. They didn’t seem to be based in this hemisphere though, if you get my meaning.
We also looked at Weebly and Webs for hosting. Do not do this. Do not. Both of them claim rights to all content posted on their servers.
Do you hear me?
Do. Not. Use. Those.
Again, I totally reccomend Hostgator if you can afford it. They’re based in Texas, and they even gave me a nice welcome phonecall when I signed up. They seem to be devoted to customer satisfaction, and I like that in a webhost.
tl;dr: Hostgator Hostgator Hostgator
